חברת התעופה האמריקאית מצהירה על התוכניות והיעדים החדשים של החברה לשנה הבאה, כאשר בין היתר החברה עשויה להפוך לחברה האמריקאית היחידה שטסה בין ניו יורק (JFK) לבין טוקיו (HND)

טיסות ללא הפסקה לטוקיו?

החברה הודיעה כי הוגשה בקשה רשמית למשרד התחבורה האמריקאי (DOT) להפוך לחברה האמריקאית היחידה שטסה ללא הפסקה בין נמל התעופה הבינלאומי ג'ון פ. קנדי של ניו יורק (JFK) לנמל התעופה האנדה בטוקיו (HND). עד לאישור, השירות החדש של החברה יפעל כל השנה בתדירות של טיסה יומית.

מולי ווילקינסון, סגנית הנשיא האמריקאית לענייני רגולציה וממשל בינלאומי, התייחסה לאפשרות זו ואמרה כי "אמריקן מצפה להציג את האפליקציה התחרותית שלנו לספק שירות חדש ומשופר לנמל התעופה האנדה הנוח של טוקיו. זה יהיה השירות היחיד ללא הפסקה מ-JFK לטוקיו המופעל על ידי חברת תעופה אמריקאית.

הרחבת הפעילות בטולום

החל מה-28 במרץ, יופעל שירות חדש ללא הפסקה ימריא לטולום, מקסיקו (TQO). החברה תציע ארבע טיסות יומיות - יותר טיסות מכל חברת תעופה אחרת מארה"ב. בנוסף, אמריקן מפעילה לקנקון הסמוכה 40 טיסות מ-18 יעדים בארה״ב. טיסותיה של אמריקן לטולום יפעלו במטוסי בואינג 737.

בריאן זנוטינס, סגן נשיא בכיר של אמריקן לתכנון רשת ולוח זמנים, התייחס לנושא ואמר כי ״עם יותר טיסות לטולום מארה"ב מכל חברת תעופה אחרת, אמריקן תציע קישוריות ארצית נוחה לפנינת החופשה הפופולרית הזו בריביירה מאיה."

הגדלת השירות בדרום אמריקה

בקיץ הבא, אמריקן תרחיב את שירותה למקסיקו, האיים הקריביים ואמריקה הלטינית. החברה תציע יותר מ-90 יעדים לבחירה, כאשר החל מה-5 ביוני 2024, תגדיל את השירות במספר קווים ברחבי האזור.
