לאור מצוקת החקלאים, התגייסו עובדי אשת טורס לסייע למשק עוזר בבית עזרא, המגדל עגבניות ומלפפונים.

העובדים, ביניהם גם אפרים קרמר המנכ״ל ושירלי כהן עורקבי הסמנכ"לית, סייעו בהדליה לקראת עונת הגידול הקרובה של המלפפונים.

"ענפי החקלאות והתיירות נפגעו הכי קשה מהמלחמה, ומחובתנו לסייע ככל יכולתנו״, ציינה כהן עורקבי. ״לאשת טורס חיבור עמוק לאזור בזכות המוקד המרכזי שלנו באשקלון ורבים מהעובדים שלנו שגרים בו, כך שההתנדבות בבית עזרא טבעית עבורנו".
