החל מסוף חודש מאי: נמל התעופה חיפה ייסגר לטובת שיפוץ המסלולים

נמל התעופה חיפה ייסגר בסוף חודש מאי לטובת שיפוץ המסלולים. פתיחתו המחודשת צפויה להתרחש בסוף יולי. המטרה: שיפוץ המסלולים בהתאם לדרישות הבינלאומיות, לקראת הפעלת טיסות מחיפה מחוץ לארץ ולאילת

פרסום ראשון: לקראת תחילת הטיסות הבינלאומיות, והטיסות לאילת משדה התעופה חיפה רשות שדות התעופה תשלים את שיפוץ המסלולים בהתאם לדרישות הבינלאומיות, בתוך כך, ממידע שהגיע לפספורטניוז, השדה צפוי להיסגר בסוף מאי, ופתיחתו המחודשת צפויה להתקיים ב-19 ביולי. הפעילות הקיימת כיום בנמל התעופה חיפה תועבר, למשך חודש וחצי, לשדות תעופה ומנחתים אחרים.

סגירת השדה תתבצע במטרה לאפשר את ריבוד מסלולי הנחיתה וההמראה. שרת התחבורה והבטיחות בדרכים, תא"ל (במיל') מירי רגב: "אנו שמחים על השלמת ההכנות של רש"ת לקראת שדרוגו של נמל התעופה בחיפה. מגיע גם לתושבי צפון הארץ ליהנות ממגוון טיסות, מבלי שיצטרכו להגיע לנתב"ג".

כאמור, במהלך הקיץ הקרוב, אמורה להתחיל לפעול בנמל התעופה חיפה חברת תעופה ישראלית חדשה: אייר חיפה. זאת לאחר שהשרה רגב העניקה לפני מספר חודשים רישיון הפעלה לאייר חיפה. הרישיון מאפשר לה להפעיל טיסות מסחריות משדה התעופה בחיפה ליעדים קרובים באירופה ובאגן הים התיכון כמו יוון וטורקיה. זאת, במסגרת חזונה של השרה להגברת התחברות והידוק החיבוריות והקישוריות בתוך ישראל ומחוצה לה.

כמו כן, בכוונת החברה להפעיל קו טיסות מחיפה לנמל רמון שליד אילת. יצויין כי כיום חל מחסור בטיסות ממרכז הארץ לאילת, והפעילות אמורה לסייע בהיקף הטיסות.
