הממשלה תאריך היום (א') את מימון שהות המפונים בבתי המלון ובאכלוס עצמי עד 28 בפברואר 2025.

במשרד התיירות מציינים כי ״מזה למעלה משנה המשרד, בראשות השר חיים כץ, מנהל את שהות המפונים מהצפון ומהדרום במאות מלונות ברחבי הארץ ובאלפי מקומות לינה נוספים.״

עד כה עלות הפינוי נאמדת ביותר מ-9 מיליארד שקלים, מתוכם שילם משרד התיירות למלונות ולבעלי הדירות כ-6 מיליארד שקלים.

עוד מוסיפים במשרד כי יוזמת השר כץ, לאפשר למפונים החפצים בכך לקבל מענק אכלוס עצמאי בסך 200 שקלים למבוגר ו-100 לילד ליום, חסכה עד כה למדינה יותר מ-5 מיליארד שקלים. זאת כתוצאה מהפער בין התעריף המשולם למלונות לבין תעריף האכלוס העצמי.
