מנכ"ל חדש למלון דיוויד אינטרקונטיננטל בתל אביב.

פרנקו וולה שהיה בתפקידו האחרון מנכ"ל שרתון תל אביב, מונה למנהל הכללי של דיוויד אינטרקונטיננטל תל אביב, החל מה-4 ביוני 2023 ויחליף את דיוויד כהן שסיים את תפקידו לאחר 19 שנים.
וולה במקור ממלטה, שם החל את הקריירה הענפה שלו בתחום האירוח.

בתחילת דרכו וולה עסק דווקא בתחום המסעדנות במלטה בה גדל, ואת דרכו בענף המלונאות, התחיל ולה באגף מזון ומשקאות במלטה, לאחר מכן עבר למספר מלונות בנכסים קטנים יותר וקיבל אפשרות לשמש שם כמנהל שיווק ומכירות. ולה עם מעל 30 שנות ניסיון בינלאומי ומקומי בתעשיית האירוח ממלטה, בריטניה וישראל במותגים עולמיים מובילים. לאורך שנותיו בתעשיית המלונאות, היה אחראי על מספר השקות של מלונות חדשים ועל ביצוע שיפוצים גדולים, הרחבות ומיצוב מחדש.
בתפקידו האחרון, וולה כיהן כמנהל הכללי של Marriott International - שרתון תל אביב.

כמנכ"ל שרתון תל אביב, הוענקה לוולה על ידי מנכ"ל משרד התיירות, אמיר הלוי, תעודת הדירוג היוקרתית למלון שהינו מלון הרשת הבינלאומית הראשון בישראל שזוכה לדירוג 5 כוכבים סופיריור. כמו כן, הוא הוביל וניהל בהצלחה את השיפוץ והשינוי של המלון לעיצוב וקונספט חדש של המותג שרתון.

וולה דובר אנגלית, מלטזית ואיטלקית, ובעל ידע בסיסי בצרפתית, גרמנית, עברית וערבית.

"כשהייתי עוד במלטה, הכרתי לא מעט ישראלים שעבדו בתעשיית המלונאות. כולם היו מאד חמים ולבביים. פעמים רבות הוזמנתי להגיע, אבל זה לא יצא לפועל. ברגע שהגיעה ההצעה לעבוד בישראל, מאד שמחתי. מהרגע שהגעתי לישראל להתרשם מהמלון, התאהבתי בתל אביב ובסביבה", סיפר בראיון מיוחד לפני מספר שנים לפספורטניוז, בהיותו מנכ״ל מלון שרתון תל אביב.
