העבודות החלו: המלון האהוב מארה"ב מגיע לאתונה

עם 1,100 חדרי מלון, 180 שולחנות משחק, 1,500 מכונות מזל , אולם ל-4,000 איש ו-15 מסעדות: הונחה אבן הפינה למלון הארד רוק קפה ב"ריביירה" של בירת יוון. ומתי הפתיחה?

הונחה אבן הפינה להקמת מלון "הארד רוק קפה" באתונה. המלון השייך לרשת המלונות הפופולרית בארצות הברית, המפעילה עשרות מתחמי נופש בארצות הברית בעיקר ומחוצה לה, יוקם באזור הליניקון, הריביירה של יוון - המקום בו שכן נמל התעופה הישן של אתונה.

המתחם המשולב (מלון וקזינו) יהיה הראשון מסוגו באירופה וצפוי להיפתח ב-2027. לצד המלון היוקרתי, תוקם קומת קזינו וכן אולמות כנסים וחדרי פגישות, מרכז בילוי, מסעדות וברים, מתחם "רוק ספא", בריכה וטיילת. בפרויקט מושקעים 1.5 מיליארד אירו והוא אמור לייצר כ-3,000 מקומות עבודה קבועים ועוד כ-3,000 זמניים.

הקזינו במלון יכלול 180 שולחנות משחק ו-1,500 מכונות מזל. מגדל המלון יכלול 1,100 חדרים ו-15 מסעדות. בנוסף כולל המתחם את תיאטרון "Hard Rock Live" עם 3,000 מקומות ישיבה או 4,000 בעמידה.

ג'ים אלן, יו"ר הארד רוק אינטרנשיונל אמר כי "זהו יום מיוחד שבו אנחנו חוגגים את הבאת המותג העולמי הייחודי שלנו לאתונה". אלן הודה לממש להיוויני ולשותפים בפרויקט.

וזו לא ההכרזה הדרמטית היחידה של הרשת. בשנה שעברה הודיעה הנהלת "הארד רוק קפה" על רכישת מלון "מיראז'" בסטריפ של לאס וגאס מרשת MGM, ועל כוונתה להקים בשטחו מלון בצורת הגיטרה האיקונית המשמשת כלוגו של מלונות ומסעדות החברה. "מלון גיטרה" ראשון כבר הוקם לפני כעשור בהוליווד שבפלורידה.
