בעקבות ההתרסקות הקטלנית הבוקר (29/12) בדרום קוריאה של טיסה 7C2216 מבנגקוק למואן, שהביאה למותם של 179 נוסעים ואנשי צווות, מנכ"ל חברת Jeju Air, קים איבי, פרסם הצהרה רשמית של צער עמוק והתחייבות של החברה הדרום קוריאנית ושלו לטיפול יסודי באירוע.

"ראשית, ברצוני להביע התנצלות כנה בפני כל מי שנפגע מהתאונה הטראגית. בסביבות השעה 9:03 בבוקר פרצה שריפה בטיסה 7C2216 בעת נחיתתה בנמל התעופה הבינלאומי של מואן, פותח מנכ״ל חברת התעופה.

איבי ממשיך: ״בראש ובראשונה, אני מביע את תנחומיי העמוקים והכנים לכל הנוסעים שאיבדו את חייהם היקרים, ולמשפחותיהם השכולות שנפגעו עמוקות מהאירוע הזה. כרגע, לא ניתן לקבוע את סיבת התאונה, ואנו ממתינים לתוצאות חקירת הגורמים הממשלתיים הרלוונטיים. עם זאת, אני, כמנכ"ל החברה, מודע לחלוטין לאחריות המוטלת עליי ועל החברה.״

איבי ממשיך וכותב: ״אנו ב-Jeju Air נעשה כל שביכולתנו כדי לסייע למשפחות הנוסעים ולפתור את נסיבות האירוע בהקדם האפשרי. כמו כן, אנו מתחייבים לשיתוף פעולה מלא עם הרשויות הממשלתיות בבדיקת נסיבות התאונה ולנקיטת צעדים למניעת מקרים דומים בעתיד.״

מנכ״ל Jeju Air מסיים ואומר: ״שולחים את תפילותינו הכנות למנוחת נפשם של הקורבנות ומביעים את התנצלותנו העמוקה והכנה למשפחותיהם האבלות."

Jeju Air נמצאת כעת בשיתוף פעולה מלא עם הרשויות בדרום קוריאה, והחברה הבטיחה לעדכן את הציבור בהתפתחויות נוספות. ההתרסקות, שבה נספו נוסעים רבים, מהווה אתגר עצום לחברה ולעולם התעופה, והנהלת Jeju Air התחייבה לפעול באחריות ובשקיפות מלאה.
