במהלך וועדת הכלכלה של הכנסת שדנה היום (שלישי) במשבר בענף התיירות, סיפר מנכ"ל אגודת מורי הדרך, אלי מילוא, בדמעות: ״קיבלתי הבוקר הודעה על עוד מורה דרך, אב לילדים צהצפון, שהתאבד בגלל המצב הקשה". עוד הוסיף המנכ"ל: ״לא הצלחתי לתפוס את אגף התקציבים ואף אחד לא התייחס לטענות״. יו"ר הוועדה, ח"כ מיכאל ביטון אמר כי: ״הקורונה לא פסחה על אף אחד, אבל אחת הפגיעות הקשות הייתה בעולם התיירות, שעדיין לא חזר לפעילות מלאה ומתקשה לצאת מהמשבר. העננה עדיין מרחפת מעל ראשו, הממשלה נדרשת לתת לענף מענה ייחודי ואפקטיבי. הוועדה קוראת למשרד התיירות ולמשרד האוצר להידבר עם נציגי סוכני הנסיעות לשם מציאת פתרונות סיוע ותקיים דיון מעקב״. מנכ"לית התאחדות משרדי הנסיעות, טלי לאופר, אמרה: ״משרדי הנסיעות נופלים בין הכיסאות ונשארו בלי עבודה, מאחר שהממשלה ממליצה לציבור שלא לטוס לחו"ל. זרקו אותנו לכלבים. המדינה סגרה לנו את העסק ואמרה שלא נקבל פיצוי. ב-30.6 נגמרה רשת הביטחון ואנחנו עדיין ב-20% פעילות. מישהו צריך לקחת אחריות על מעל 7,000 עובדים", זעקה לאופר.
