25 ערים מתחרות: מי תארח את "האולימפיאדה הגאה"?

פדרציית המשחקים הגאים (FGG) הכריזה על הערים המעוניינות לארח את המשחקים ב-2030. על פי ההערכות מדובר באירוע בו ישתתפו כעשרת אלפים ספורטאים, גם מישראל. האירוע צפוי להכניס יותר ממאה מיליון דולר למארחת

25 ערים משש יבשות מעוניינות לארח את "המשחקים האולימפיים הגאים" (Gay Games) בשנת 2030. מדובר באירוע לא קטן בכלל שגם הכנסות משמעותיות בצדו. ב-2018 דיווחה פריז שאירחה את המשחקים על הכנסות של 107 מיליון אירו, וערים בארצות הברית שעשו זאת בעבר דיווחו אף הן על יותר מ-50 מיליון דולר הכנסות.

בין הערים שמעוניינות לארח את מהדורת 2030 של המשחקים נמצאות שלוש ערים באוסטרליה - אדלייד, מלבורן ופרת'. כמו כן מתחרות סאו פאולו בברזיל, פרנקפורט בגרמניה, אתונה ביוון, אוקלנד בניו זילנד, קייפטאון ויוהנסבורג בדרום אפריקה, ליברפול ולונדון בבריטניה וגם מיאמי וערים נוספות בארצות הברית.

עד חודש מרץ השנה הערים כולן יידרשו להציג תוכנית מפורטת למשחקים – ומשם יחל תהליך הבחירה שיגיע לשיאו באסיפה הכללית של ארגון המשחקים הגאים באוקטובר 2024. ההכרזה הסופית על זהות המארחת תינתן בהמשך.

המשחקים הגאים (GAY GAMES) אינם חלק מהוועד האולימפי, המקיים את המשחקים האולימפיים והפאראלימפיים הרשמיים. נזכיר כי בקיץ הקרוב תיערך האולימפיאדה בפריז, תחת חשש כבד מפיגועים בזמן המשחקים והטקסים.

"האולימפיאדה הגאה" הראשונה נערכה ב-1982 בסן פרנסיסקו, ומאז בכל ארבע שנים מתקיימים המשחקים. בנובמבר האחרון התקיימו המשחקים בשתי ערים, גוואדלחארה במקסיקו והונג קונג, אחרי שתל אביב לא נבחרה לארח את המשחקים.
