שמואל קנדל מנהל נמל התעופה בן גוריון

שר התחבורה והבטיחות בדרכים, ישראל כץ, מינה היום [יום חמישי] את סמנכ"ל הנדסה ותכנון ברשות שדות התעופה [רש"ת], שמואל קנדל [60], לתפקיד מנהל נמל התעופה בן גוריון.

השר כץ חתם הערב על כתב המינוי של קנדל, לאחר שמועצת המנהלים של רש"ת אישרה את בחירתו לתפקיד ולאחר שקיבל את המלצתה של ועדת האיתור בנושא.

שמואל קנדל מחליף את זאב שריג, ששימש בתפקיד במשך 5 השנים האחרונות. במשך ארבעת החודשים האחרונים שימש קנדל כמנהל בפועל של נמל התעופה בן גוריון.

שמואל קנדל שימש כטייס בחיל האוויר ועבד במשך 11 שנים בתעשייה האווירית, רובן כמהנדס ניסויי טיסה. במהלך 22 שנות עבודתו ברש"ת שימש קנדל בשורה ארוכה של תפקידים מקצועיים וניהוליים, בתחום התכנון וההנדסה ובמשך כשנה וחצי ניהל בהצלחה רבה את פרוייקט "נתב"ג 2000".

השר כץ ציין כי קנדל יוכל לתרום מנסיונו הרב בתחום התעופה לקידום תוכניות הפיתוח של רש"ת, אשר נועדו לשפר את רמת הבטיחות ואת איכות השירות בנתב"ג.
