הקידוח ש"פרץ לרגל" יום כדור הארץ , 22 באפריל במלון הילטון ת"א

מים מליחים פרצו מבאר הקידוח שיזם מלון הילטון תל-אביב בחצרו האחורית ,מטרת הקידוח להשתמש במי הים לקירור מערכות מיזוג האוויר העמוסות של המלון בן 585 החדרים בשיטת העיבוי.

בשעה שמרבית הרשויות המקומיות בישראל יציינו מחר , יום ב' - 22 באפריל, את יום כדור הארץ, פרצו מים מליחים מבאר הקידוח שיזם מלון הילטון תל-אביב בחצרו האחורית. מטרת הקידוח – להשתמש במי הים לקירור מערכות מיזוג האוויר העמוסות של המלון בן 585 החדרים בשיטת העיבוי. מי הים משמשים כתחליף למערכות מזהמות סביבה המייצרות חשמל כסולר או פחם וחוסכות כ – 30 אחוזים בצריכת החשמל של המלון על בסיס שנתי. יצוין כי זוהי באר קידוח המים המליחים השישית של המלון, כאשר הראשונה כבר נחצבה בשנות ה – 60 . רוני פורטיס, מנכ"ל מלונות הילטון בישראל, מסר כי נושא שימור איכות הסביבה ושימוש באמצעי אנרגיה שאינם מזהמים היא מדיניות עולמית של רשת המלונות הבינלאומית, אשר מוכנה להשקיע משאבים כדי ליצר תחליפי אנרגיה כאלה למען איכות החיים על פני כדור הארץ.
