ארגון הבריאות העולמי: יש להסיר מגבלות נסיעות הקשורות לקורונה

ארגון הבריאות העולמי (WHO) הכריז על המלצות חדשות למדינות להסיר או להקל על הגבלות נסיעות קיימות הקשורות לקורונה כי "ההתפשטות של גרסת אומיקרון מראה את חוסר היעילות של הגבלות נסיעה לאורך זמן"

לפי VOANews.com, Voice Of America, אתר הרשות הפדרלית של ארה"ב, ועדת החירום של תקנות הבריאות הבינלאומיות של ארגון הבריאות העולמי (WHO) אמרה לאחרונה, כי הגבלות הקשורות לקורונה "אינן מספקות ערך מוסף וממשיכות לתרום ללחץ הכלכלי והחברתי שחווים אזרחים". עפ"י הדיווח, גורמים רשמיים של ארגון הבריאות העולמי אמרו ש"ההתפשטות של גרסת אומיקרון מראה את חוסר היעילות של הגבלות נסיעה לאורך זמן". הארגון ציין, כי אמצעי בטיחות כמו מסכות, בדיקות, בידוד וחיסונים "צריכים להתבסס על הערכות סיכונים כדי להימנע מהטלת נטל כספי עודף על נוסעים בינלאומיים". בשבוע שעבר המרכז האמריקאי לבקרת מחלות ומניעתן (CDC) הודיע כי עדכן את רשימת הנסיעות שלו עבור 40 מדינות וטריטוריות, ואילו בריטניה כבר ביטלה, כידוע, חלק מהמגבלות, וכתוצאה מכך גורמים בתעשיית התיירות צופים כי נסיעות בינלאומיות יגיעו ל-90% מהרמה שלפני המגפה. מחקר חדש של ארגון התיירות העולמי של האו"ם (UNWTO) מצא שהתיירות העולמית חוותה עלייה של 4% בשנת 2021. הארגון ציין שההשפעה המלאה של גרסת האומיקרון טרם נראתה, אך העלייה בשיעורי החיסונים וההקלות בהגבלות הנסיעות מסייעות לגידול בביקוש לנסיעות.
