האיחוד האירופי: 'הקופסה השחורה' תשולב במכוניות בדומה למטוסים

הנציבות האירופית מציעה תקנות בטיחות, שתחייבנה את כל המכוניות החדשות במדינות האיחוד האירופי. הדיונים בפרלמנט האירופי יחלו כבר בתחילת 2019 במטרה להגיע לסיכום מהיר. אמצעי הבטיחות החדשים יחסכו 25,000 הרוגי תאונות בשנים הקרובות

הצעות לתקנות בטיחות חדשות לכלי רכב מוצעות ע"י הנציבות האירופית, וקרוב לוודאי, שהן תשולבנה כבר בשנה הקרובה בכל כלי הרכב החדשים באירופה. התקנה המרכזית היא התקנת 'קופסה שחורה' בכל מכונית בדומה למטוסים, שתספק מידע על מהירות המכונית ועל פעילות מערכות הבטיחות לפני, תוך כדי ואחרי כל תאונה. אם התקנות החדשות תאושרנה ע"י הפרלמנט האירופי, הן תכלולנה גם מערכות מהירות חכמות ואוטומטיות לצורך התאמת המהירות לתנאי הדרך, שלא ניתן יהיה לבטל את פעילותן. הפרלמנט האירופי הודיע כי הדיונים על התקנות החדשות יתחילו כבר בתחילת 2019 במטרה להגיע לסיכום מהיר, והן תחייבנה את כל כלי הרכב החדשים, שיעלו על הכביש במדינות האיחוד האירופי. מערכות נוספות, הכלולות במסגרת התקנות החדשות, יכללו: מערכת בלימת חירום אוטונומית ומערכת לשמירה על נתיב הנסיעה, וכמו כן מערכות בטיחות נוספות, וביניהן: זיהוי עייפות הנהג, חיישני נסיעה לאחור, נורות אחוריות מהבהבות בבלימת חירום, והכנה מוקדמת לחיווט המאפשר התקנה של מכשור לזיהוי נהג שתוי. עפ"י הערכות ראשוניות, התקנות החדשות צפויות לחסוך 25,000 הרוגים ומאות אלפי פצועים ב-16 השנים הקרובות. אנטוניו אוונוסו, מנכ"ל מועצת הבטיחות התחבורתית באיחוד האירופי, אמר: "זהו צעד משמעותי קדימה לבטיחות בדרכים".
