ישראל ביתנו מבקשת מבג"ץ צו שיאפשר את חזרתם של כל אזרחי ישראל התקועים בחו"ל כדי שיוכלו לשוב למדינתם ובין היתר לממש את זכותם הבסיסית - להצביע בבחירות. יו"ר המפלגה, אביגדור ליברמן: "לא נאפשר לביבי והמפלגות החרדיות לבצע מחטף"

מפלגת ישראל ביתנו, בראשות ח"כ אביגדור ליברמן, עתרה הבוקר (רביעי) לבג"ץ נגד ראש הממשלה, בנימין נתניהו, שרת התחבורה, מירי רגב והיועץ המשפטי לממשלה, אביחי מנדלבליט. ישראל ביתנו דורשת מבית המשפט הגבוה לצדק להוציא צו שיאפשר את חזרתם של כל אזרחי ישראל התקועים בחו"ל כדי שיוכלו לשוב למדינתם ובין היתר לממש את זכותם הבסיסית - להצביע בבחירות. "מדוע לא תבוטל ההגבלה הבלתי חוקתית שנקבעה בתיקון מספר 13 לתקנות סמכויות מיוחדות להתמודדות עם נגיף הקורונה החדש (הוראת שעה) (הגבלות על הפעלת שדות תעופה וטיסות), תש"ף 2020, על מספר הנוסעים הנכנסים לישראל, ותחתיה ייקבעו ויופעלו אמצעים חלופיים ומידתיים, אשר ימנעו את כניסת הנגיף, על הווריאנטים השונים שלו לארץ ואו את הפצתם. למצער ולחילופין, מדוע לא תבוטל ההגבלה האמורה, ככל שהיא חלה על אזרחי ישראל, באופן שאזרחים ישראלים יוחרגו מתחולת ההגבלה", כך ישראל ביתנו בעתירתה לבג"ץ. יו"ר המפלגה, ליברמן, אמר: "לא נאפשר לביבי והמפלגות החרדיות לבצע מחטף. ב-23 במארס רק ישראל ביתנו גדולה וחזקה תשלח אותם לאופוזיציה ותקים קואליציה ציונית וליברלית".
