תאילנד מציעה בידוד באתרי גולף כדי להגביר את התיירות

עפ"י ההצעה, תיירים זרים יוכלו לבלות את תקופת הבידוד באתר נופש מוגדר, להסתובב באזור המלונות וגם לשחק גולף, ולא רק להתבודד בחדריהם

שר התיירות של תאילנד הציע תוכנית לאפשר לתיירים זרים לעבור את הבידוד המחייב בכמה מאתרי הגולף הרבים במדינה בכדי להגביר את תחום התיירות. השר אמר בהודעת לעיתונות כי הרשויות דנות עם משרד הבריאות הציבורית ועם כוח המשימה המיוחד של המאבק בקורונה על ההצעה לבידוד במלונות ואתרי גולף לתיירים. תיירים זרים יוכלו לבלות את תקופת הבידוד של שבועיים באתר נופש מוגדר ולהסתובב באזור המלונות וגם לשחק גולף, ולא רק להתבודד בחדריהם, על פי היוזמה האחרונה. התוכנית, הכפופה לאישור הקבינט, מגיעה כאשר המדינה נאבקת בגל נוסף של הקורונה לאחר שהכילה את התפשטות המגפה במשך חודשים. ראוי לציין כי תאילנד משכה 40 מיליון תיירים זרים בשנת 2019 שהוציאו 1.91 טריליון באט (63.4 מיליארד דולר), אך מספר המבקרים צלל במהלך מגפת הקורונה לאחר שגבולותיה נאטמו, ותעשיית התיירות - מלונות, מסעדות ואטרקציות תיירותיות - שהסתמכה על מבקרים זרים, בקריסה רצינית. תוכנית הוויזה המיוחדת למבקרים לתקופה ארוכה, שהחלה לקראת סוף השנה שעברה, משכה רק כ-1,000 תיירים.
