מנכ"לית התאחדות משרדי הנסיעות ויועצי התיירות, טלי לאופר, שיגרה אגרת לחברי ההתאחדות על רקע המהומות והאלימות בימים האחרונים בין יהודים לערבים. ״כמו בסרט רע, אנו צופים בימים האחרונים כיצד שוב עולה המציאות על כל דמיון, כשבין לילה (או כך לפחות זה מרגיש) הפכו רחובות המדינה למוקד של שנאה, הסתה ואלימות משני צידי המתרס״ פתחה לאופר את האגרת על המצב בארץ. היא הוסיפה וכתבה: ״אנו, התאחדות משרדי הנסיעות, החברים בה ואנשי ענף התיירות ככלל, שוחרי דו קיום ופועלים אלו לצד אלו, מכל הדתות וכל הלאומים, בכבוד הדדי, קולגיאליות ושיתוף פעולה מלא, בזמנים טובים וטובים פחות. כך נהגנו תמיד וכך גם נמשיך. אנו מגנים גינוי חריף, כל פעולה אלימה מכל כיוון ומקווים כי במהרה יחלוף הגל העכור והמיותר כל כך. אנו קוראים לכל חברי ההתאחדות לקדם ולהטיף בכל מקום ובכל הזדמנות לאחווה, שלום ודו קיום מכבד.״ לאופר סיכמה את האגרת ורשמה: ״אנו שולחים את תנחומינו מעומק הלב למשפחות ההרוגים ואיחולי החלמה מהירה לפצועים.״
