IATA: "שוברים במקום החזרי מזומנים – דחיפה לענף התעופה"

עפ"י הניתוח של יאט"א, חברות התעופה צפויות 'לשרוף' 61 מיליארד דולר מרזרבות המזומנים שלהן, בעיקר כדי להחזיר כספים לנוסעים. "מדינות המאפשרת לחברות תעופה להציע שוברים במקום החזרי מזומנים נותנות דחיפה משמעותית ליציבות הענף", אומר מנכ"ל יאט"א

איגוד התעופה הבינלאומי (IATA) פרסם ניתוח חדש, המצביע על כך שחברות התעופה עלולות 'לשרוף' 61 מיליארד דולר מרזרבות המזומנים שלהן במהלך הרבעון השני של השנה, אפריל יוני 2020, תוך הפסד רבעוני של 39 מיליארד דולר. הניתוח מתבסס על הערכת ההשפעה של מגבלות טיסה חמורות במשך שלושה חודשים, שיגרום לענף התעופה הפסד הכנסות של 252 מיליארד דולר השנה לעומת שנת 2019. "חברות תעופה אינן יכולות לקצץ בעלויות במהירות כדי להקדים את ההשפעה של המשבר הזה... ההשפעה על 'שריפת' המזומנים תגבר עקב התחייבות של 35 מיליארד דולר להחזרי כרטיסים. ללא הקלה, מצב המזומנים של התעשייה עלול להידרדר ב-61 מיליארד דולר ברבעון השני", אמר אלכסנדר דה ז'וניאק, מנכ"ל IATA. יאט"א משבחת ממשלות המגיבות לצורך בצעדים להקלה. בין המדינות המספקות חבילות סיוע כספיות או רגולטוריות לתעופה, יאט"א מציינת את: קולומביה, ארצות הברית, סינגפור, אוסטרליה, סין, ניו זילנד ונורבגיה, ומשבחת את ברזיל, קנדה, קולומביה והולנד, שהתירו לחברות התעופה להציע לנוסעים שוברי נסיעות במקום ההחזרים. "חברות תעופה זקוקות להון חוזר כדי לקיים את עסקיהן בתנאים של תנודתיות קיצונית", הדגיש דה ז'וניאק. "קנדה, ברזיל, קולומביה והולנד נותנות דחיפה משמעותית ליציבות הענף בכך שהן מאפשרת לחברות תעופה להציע שוברים במקום החזרי מזומנים. זהו מאגר כסף חיוני כדי שהענף יוכל להמשיך לתפקד".
